We represent the office clerical workers at several terminals/steamship lines in Southern California.

At various times in any given year we ask you to help us support various organizations and causes. For the first time in our Local’s history we are asking for financial support from you in order to contribute to a fund we will start on behalf of our A & B Temporary Worker Union Members.
The Union will use $10,000.00 from our Meeting Fine revenue to establish the A & B Temporary Worker Hardship Support fund. For every dollar that the Union receives as donated funds, we will match up to another $10,000.00. These funds will be used to supply A & B Temporary Workers who complete a Financial Hardship Application with a grocery store gift card worth $100.00*.
Many of our temporary workers have not been able to work on a steady basis. A majority of the B’s have not been called for a dispatch job in the last few months. An injury to one is an injury to all. Your Union brothers and sisters need your support.
How can you help? You may donate any dollar amount as often as you can. You can have your company automatically deduct a set figure monthly or you can send a payment to the office. Be sure to reference Hardship support on payments mailed to us. We have also set up an online payment form for your easy use.
This is the heart of what it means to be ILWU.
*Only one $100.00 gift card allowed per Hardship Application. Gift card can not be used for tobacco or alcoholic beverages. Applications can only be submitted by A or B Union Member Temporary Workers. Cards will be issued provided we have the cards in stock.
